“We had a good ending,” Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. “It was handled very well by our trained professional.”
Police were called to a location on the 100 block of Livingston Street at 11:15 a.m. this morning where the man was holding a knife to his own throat.
The negotiator arrived shortly after and began a dialog with the man, during which the man asked for Chinese food. Police obliged and shortly after he put the knife down and surrendered.
Police say he was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
