A police officer was rushed to University Hospital in Newark after gunfire rangout in the 90's block of Oraton Parkway near New Street about 30 minutes ago.
Police have apprehended a suspect and reportedly confiscated a weapon.
The officer's injuries are not reported to be life threatening.
