Police attempted CPR on a person found inside a car parked at a gas station in East Orange on Wednesday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Pit Stop gas station located on North 16th Street before 8:20 p.m. after they received reports of an unconscious person in a vehicle.
Officers arrived and found the unconscious and unresponsive male inside a red car in a parking spot of the station.
East Orange police officials didn't return calls for public information, but individuals on the scene said the car was parked at the gas station for several days before anyone noticed the victim inside. Managers said the vehicle pulled in the parking spot shortly before being found.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has not confirmed a suspicious death or homicide investigation at this time.
