Kearny emergency responders- rescued several people front their vehicles who were trapped in their cars due to flooding streets caused by torrential rainstorms that passed through the area.
At least six victims were rescued from their vehicles near the Post Office on Newark-Jersey City Turnpike -also known as Harrison Avenue- by courageous Kearny emergency responders this evening.
One of the victims was a Newark Uber driver who suffered a total loss of his vehicle after rising floodwaters trapped him and his passenger in his car then flooded out the engine to the vehicle.
Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported.
