Elizabeth Police Search for Suspects Wanted for Two Convenience Store Robberies

Police in Elizabeth are on the search for suspects wanted for two armed robberies of convenience stores in the city this week.

According to a statement released by Elizabeth city spokeswoman Kelly Martins, the first robbery happened on Monday, at approximately 2 pm, where two males entered Kuky’s Mini Mart on 5th Street wearing masks and gloves.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk.

Spokeswoman Martins said one of the suspects was described as a thin male, approximately 5’10" tall wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and pants with a white stripe and light sneakers. Spokeswoman Martins said the remaining suspect was described as almost the same but wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants with dark sneakers.

The pair fled in a blue or dark-colored vehicle towards 6th street.

In a robbery that took place at around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Spokeswoman Martins said armed men held up a bodega in the 20's block of 5th Street.

According to Spokeswoman Martins, two African American males entered the establishment armed with a gun and took an undetermined amount of cash from employees before running from the scene on 1st Street.

The suspects are described as approximately 6ft tall, skinny build, and wore all black with masks according to Spokeswoman Martins. There were no injuries reported.
