There is an evacuation. Underway at a Union County hospital as police search the facility after they received reports of a possible trespasser that made it inside the building this afternoon.
Details are preliminary but at approximately 2:10 p.m., police began to clear the building after someone notified them that an unauthorized person inside The Overlook Hospital.
The search is underway and there are no official reports of weapons involved at this time.
**SPD UPDATED:** "At approximately 2 PM on Wednesday, July 31, the Summit Police Department responded to Overlook Medical Center on a report of a suspicious individual, possibly with a handgun. Overlook Medical Center was placed on lockdown. Access to the hospital was restricted during the active police investigation, and police temporarily closed all roads leading to the hospital.
Police completed a floor-by-floor, room-by-room search of the entire hospital, MAC buildings and all adjacent parking structures. The person of interest was located and cleared of any involvement.
The campus was cleared and reopened at approximately 3:40 PM. All roadways are now open".
**UPDATE 3:36 p.m.:** All clear according to police.
