DEVELOPING: Overnight Fire Destroys Garage in Roselle; Union County Officials Investigate Multiple Fires

Fire officials in Union County have launched an investigation into about five fires that ignited at locations in Union County including a garage fire in Roselle during the overnight hours.

In the roselle incident, crews were called to 154 West 9th Avenue after received reports of a structure fire just before 2:15 a.m.

Firefighters arrived and found a detached garage heavily involved in flames according to fire officials.

Fire officials stuck a second alarm as the blaze intensified and they noticed a car and a boat burning inside the garage. It took firefighters under an hour to extinguish the fire with no injuries reported.

Union County experienced about five structure fires with most of the blazes happening in Linden.

"Tonight was a very peculiar night. We had several fires in Linden and one in Roselle. At this time, we do not know the causes of the fires, but I am confident our investigators will soon determine how the fires started.
