Police detectives in the Morris County town of Long Hill are attempting to identify two suspects who tried to burglarize a home in the township early Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police said the two assailants arrived at a residence in the 80's block of Birchwood Drive and attempted to enter the home before 4:40 a.m unlawfully.
Police say the incident was caught on surveillance tape and the vehicle the suspects arrived in was reported stolen out of Jersey City. A dog inside the car matched the description of a pet taken from a residence in Bernard shortly before the Long Hill incident.
The suspects sped away from the scene once they could not get into the home according to police.
