Police officials in Paterson have not immediately confirm if a man that firefighters rescued from the Great Falls this evening was taken into custody for trespassing or if the man entered the lake to harm himself.
According to preliminary reports, Paterson emergency responders rushed to the McBride Avenue side of the National Historic Landmark after they received reports of a male trapped at the bottom of the falls at approximately 7 p.m.
When Paterson Firefighters Rescue 2 unit arrived, they found the soaked man trapped on the rocks at the base of the falls.
Rescue crews successfully pulled the man to safety in a short amount of time.
Paterson Police placed the man in handcuffs shortly before EMS checked him for any severe injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
