Two utility workers suffered non-life threatening injuries after an out of control stolen vehicle struck their van and at least one other car in Newark Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the crash happened just before 2 p.m. in the vicinity of 141 South 9th Street when the driver of a stolen vehicle plowed into the PSE&G van, another vehicle then burst into flames.
Police say one of the workers was inside the van on the passenger side while the driver stepped away to retrieve items from the rear of the vehicle shortly before the collision.
According to police, heavy fire extended from the car destroying all three vehicles.
Newark Police did not report an arrest.
