There were no severe injuries reported for individuals occupying cars involved in a crash on a road in Newark.
The Sunday evening crash happened at approximately 6 p.m. on McCarter Highway -just at Bridge Street- where two cars collided causing substantial damage to the front end of one of the vehicles and significant damage to the other.
Two people -one form each vehicle- were transported to the hospital but expected to survive their injuries. The driver of one of the cars is reported to be an off-duty police officer.
Police say the crash caused significant delays on the highway due to the cleanup and investigation.
the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
