Firefighters in Voorhees battled a stubborn multi-alarm fire that erupted inside an apartment early Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, fire ignited in a three-story garden style apartment located at 143 Kirkbride Road shortly after 2 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the building after fire began to push up through the attic of the building. Firefighters struck a second then third alarm for manpower as fire began to extend from the apartment.
It took firefighters under an hour to bring the fire under control with a search of the building resulting in no trapped or injured occupants.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
