NJ State Police Arrest Man Wanted for Allegedly Stabbing Family Member in Massachusetts

The New Jersey State Police arrested Mr. Sonny Thompson, 42, of East Orange, N.J., who they say was wanted for allegedly stabbing a family member on June 8 in Lynn, M.A.

According to a statement released by N.J. State Police, Thompson was charged by the Lynn District Court with armed assault with intent to murder and mayhem.

State Police detectives from the Fugitive Unit were contacted by Massachusetts State Police detectives to assist with locating Thompson.

Through various investigative means, detectives determined that he was staying in a recreational vehicle (RV) in East Orange.

Authorities say on Monday, June 10, members of the State Police Fugitive Unit with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police located Thompson at the RV and arrested him without incident.

Police charged Sonny Thompson with being a fugitive of justice and lodged at Essex County Jail pending extradition back to Massachusetts.

Charges are mere accusations and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
