A male armed with a gun fired multiple rounds at unknown targets in a Newark West Ward neighborhood on Monday night, police said, but no one was wounded.
According to authorities, the shooting happened around midnight in the 70's block of Chelsea Avenue where gunfire rang out in the residential neighborhood.
Police say officers arrived and found evidence of a shooting, but after a search of the neighborhood, there were no victims found. Authorities checked area hospitals for potential victims, but as of 4;30 a.m., there were no hospital walk-in casualties.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at-large.
