Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that injured two people in Elizabeth on Sunday morning.
According to a statement released by Elizabeth city spokeswoman Kelly Martins, the incident happened at approximately at 2:27 a.m. near the 901 Club located on Flora and Henry streets where police responded to several reports of shots fired.
Spokeswoman Martins said police arrived and found two males suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
According to spokeswoman Martins, one of the victims is a 37-year-old male from Elizabeth and the other victim is 42-year-old male from Newark; both were transported to University Hospital in Newark suffering gunshot wounds to their arms, legs, and abdomen. Spokeswoman Martins says the men remain in stable condition.
"Bullets damaged two parked cars," Martins said.
