There were confirmed injuries for two victims struck by gunfire during an incident that occurred near a night club/bar in Elizabeth overnight.
According to preliminary reports from police, a gunman arrived in the vicinity of 901 Flora Street just before 2:30 a.m. and sprayed the area with bullets that caused damage to multiple vehicles in their attempt to cause casualties on Sunday.
Police raced to the scene and immediately found evidence that a shooting occurred, and after a brief search of the scene, they found a male suffering gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg according to officials.
Police say officers found the second victim struck by bullets in the vicinity of Flora and Spring but his injuries did not immediately appear life-threatening.
Both unidentified victims were rushed to University Hospital in newark where doctors began to treat their bullet wounds according to police.
Police and detectives combed the area for evidence to support a possible motive for the shooting.
Detectives were also observed entering and exiting the night club but it is not clear if the incident occurred inside the bar, but officials have not confirmed if the shooting event had anything to do with the establishment.
The suspect/s remain at-large.
