UPDATE: 28-Year Old New York Man Killed in NJ Turnpike Motorcycle Crash in Ridgefield Park

Ridgefield Park

New Jersey State Police officials have returned a request for information for a deadly crash that killed a motorcyclist on an NJ highway early Saturday morning.

According to a statement released by State Police spokesman Trooper Alejandro Goez, the crash happened at approximately 3:44 a.m. on the western spur of the NJ Turnpike near mile marker 116.7 northbound.

Trooper Goez said the single-vehicle crash involved a Yamaha motorcycle -occupied by Mr. Jesus Patino-Tapia 28, of New York- that somehow veered off the right side of the highway and struck a guard rail.

According to Trooper Goez, the impact of the collision had Patino-Tapia ejected from the motorcycle and thrown a distance away.

Medical personnel pronounced severely injured Patino-Tapia dead at the scene.

The crash had detectives close the left lane of the highway for the investigation according to Trooper Goez.

There were no other injuries reported.
