Police officials in newark issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Leon Harris, 34, for an assault against a police officer on Tuesday, May 14th.
According to a statement released by Newark Police Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the 100-block of South 6th Street on a domestic violence call.
Director Ambrose said arriving officers observed two men in a fight and becoming aware of police presence, Harris entered a black Nissan Sentra with windshield damage and fled the scene, nearly striking one of the officers.
