Emergency responders are on the scene investigating an incident where a child was found alone inside an apartment in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters forced entry into a home located at 860 South 19th Street at approximately 3:35 p.m. where they found a girl around 3-year-old alone inside the residence.
EMS transported the child to the hospital, but there were no apparent physical injuries.
Police are attempting to determine precisely how long the child was inside the home before their arrival.
The child's guardian was nowhere to be found according to preliminary reports.
NPD UPDATE 6:04PM ”Mother was reached by a neighbor. The 2-Year-Old child was noticed throwing things out an open the second-floor window”. Under investigation.
