A torrential rainstorm that swiftly moved through Northern New Jersey created some flooding on significant highways and local community on Monday morning.
According to forecasters from Accu-Weather, heavy, steady rain on the northern side of the main system overwhelmed streets, drainage systems and rivers to handle in portions of Essex, Union, and Bergen counties.
Forecasters say temperatures on Monday in the state is expected to reach around 87 degrees with little chances of rain.
Although the 3:45 a.m. storm short term, forecasters say, torrential rain caused ponding on roadways, especially in low-lying areas, which lead to travel disruptions on the roadways and minor delays at the airport until the storm passed.
