Police in Paterson conducted a shots fired investigation after gunfire rang out in a neighborhood in Paterson overnight.
According to police, the shooting happened at around 3:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Mercer and Franklin street where officers arrived after a ShotSpotter detection device activated.
Police arrived to find about a half dozen shell casings, but after a search of the area, there were no injured victims according to police.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
