Jersey City authorities are looking into a shooting that injured a person on a street in the city on Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire erupted in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard at approximately 3:40 p.m. sending police officers to the scene where they found a victim shot at the intersection.
Police say the victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where his injuries were not immediately reported as life-threatening.
The suspect was observed on surveillance video running from the scene according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
