The expo took place from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Livingston Mall located at 122 Eisenhower Parkway Livingston on Saturday.
Officials say the opening ceremony began as the officers from, local, state, county and federal agencies lined up at the exterior Barnes & Noble doors at 10:50 am.
The officers marched into the center of the mall led by the Newark Police Explorers Honor Guard at 11:00 am. where four officers were honored for crime prevention efforts from East Orange, Glen Ridge, Livingston, and Orange PD, as well as the new Chief of Staff Rocco Miscia Jr of the Morris County Prosecutors Office.
The mall was open for table/displays, a crime scene truck, Child ID, Batman and Superheroes, and numerous agencies from around Essex County and NJ.
In the exterior parking lot by Barnes & Noble, officers made available vehicle tours, displays from the FBI, and a child safety seat inspection.
"We will show the communities we serve that we have continuous positive interaction with the public in which the Expo has proven, year after year, that our departments and officers have a deep concern and care for the safety of the residents of Essex County and the State of New Jersey. This is one of the best ways to show the public how much we are working on community relation efforts with the citizens we serve every day" according to President of ECCPO Gary S. Mankowitz.
