Authorities in Watchung closed off a portion of Route 22 as emergency responders assisted a severely injured person who was struck by a vehicle on Sunday morning.
Accoriding to preliminary reports, police and EMS were notified of a person down on Route 22 near North Drive at approximately 4:55 a.m.
Emergency crews arrived and immmediately began life saving techniques on the badly injured unidentified person.
An accident investigation is underway and there were no arrests immediately reported.
