Woman Pistol Whipped, Gas Station Robbed as Newark Police Investigates Multiple Armed Robberies

Newark

There is an active search for several suspects who are wanted for initiating fear in several communities as they toured parts of Newark robbing and assaulting individuals and business employees during the overnight hours.

Police say the armed thieves are wanted for at least four robberies where they ordered personal possessions from victims and cash from employees working at a business.

According to police, suspects occupying a white four-door sedan arrived at the Sunoco Gas Station shortly before 10:45 p.m. and produced a gun then demanded cash from an employee. Police say the suspect sped away from the scene immediately after the robbery.

Police say a short time after the gas station robbery, suspects observed a woman getting out of her car and approached her armed with a gun. When frightened woman attempted to get away, the suspect began to chase then beat her with the weapon causing non-life threatening injuries. The suspect committed one other robbery in the East Ward near Tichenor Street according to police.

Police are trying to determine if the suspect/s are connected to a robbery of a male that occurred in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. where the victim was found bleeding from the face after being attacked then robbed at that location.

All of the incidents remain under investigation and no suspects have been arrested according to police.
