Police in Elizabeth are conducting an active investigation into a shooting that left one person injured early Sunday morning.
It happened at approximately 12:240 a.m. in the 500 block of Richmond Street where reports of shots fired had police on the scene searching for victims.
Officers located a male victim suffering bullet wounds at that location according to preliminary reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
The motive for the shooting is an under investigation by the Elizabeth Police Department and no arrests have been made.
