Fire officials in Newark announced that members of the Newark Fire Division extinguished a two-alarm fire with no reported injuries today.
According to officials, just before 3 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire located on the second floor of the Aspen Apartments, a 6-story building at 4 Lexington Street.
The fire was upgraded to a second alarm at 3:15 p.m. and was considered under control at 5:38 p.m. according to fire officials.
Four families, amounting to 19 people, were relocated officials said.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Arson Unit.
