Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department said today that the body of an unidentified male has been recovered from the basement of an abandoned residence on Welton Street in the City.
Authorities are attempting to identify the victim, who was discovered today at approximately 9:59 am.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The investigation is active and is continuing.
