MAYS LANDING– An Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection to two separate shootings in 2014 and 2015, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
According to court documents, on March 28, Cornell Bradford, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of first degree Aggravated Manslaughter, two counts of first degree Witness Tampering, and one count of first degree Attempted Murder, for his role in two separate shootings.
Atlantic County officials say on August 28, 2014, Bradford attempted to kill Darrell Moore, 33, of Bridgeton by shooting him in Atlantic City. The defendant thereafter tampered with Moore on January 9, 2015, by threatening him with further violence.
Earlier that same day, Dwayne Gant-Smith, aka Kevin Charm, 52, of Atlantic City, was found dead on a lawn in Northfield. In open court, Bradford admitted to shooting Charm in the head after an altercation.
Charm also witnessed the earlier shooting of Moore according to authorities.
The defendant will be sentenced to an aggregate 25-year sentence on April 25, 2019.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
The state is represented by Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seth Levy and Assistant Prosecutor Brett Yore.
