Elizabeth firefighters assisted in a technical rescue of a person who was found suffering a stab injury on a railroad track in Elizabeth on Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Walnut Street and Magnolia Avenue at approximately 1:45 a.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene found the victim who was suffering an apparent stab injury on the embankment near the train tracks according to reports.
Rescue crews were able to reach the woman where they used ropes and a stoke basket to lower the victim to ground level.
EMS transported the unidentified patient to Trinitas Hospital for treatment while police launched an investigation into the incident.
There were no other injuries reported.
