Search Continues for Men Reported Missing in Separate Newark Incidents

Police officials in Newark seek the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Yamil Gomez, 78, and Mr. Edil Hernandez-Torres, 35, both of Newark, who have each been reported missing.

According to a statement released by police, Mr. Gomez was reported missing from a boarding home in the 300-block of Clinton Avenue on Friday, March 1st and is described as 5’6” tall, between 140 and 160 lbs.

Police say Gomez has a balding head with gray hair and green eyes.

Police say he was last seen wearing a gray shirt and khaki beige pants or shorts.

In the second incident, Police say Mr. Edil Hernandez-Torres was reported missing on Wednesday, March 13th and is currently homeless and had been previously resided at a shelter located at 31 Fulton Street.

Police described Torres as 6’2” tall, 210 lbs. with a fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say he also is missing his front teeth and was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black coat, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
