Police officials in Long Branch are looking into the motive behind a stabbing that occurred at a housing development in the city.
Details regarding what exactly transpired during the incident is pending a public information request, but according to reports, officials at the Monmouth Medical Center contacted police when an unidentified person entered the hospital suffering a stab injury.
Units arrived at the scene found the victim who pointed them in the direction of the University Drive Housing Projects where police arrived to find a large disturbance at that location.
Doctors treated the victim's injuries that was not reported to be life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
