Police in Irvington are on the search for suspects who are wanted for a Monday evening shooting that injured one person in the Township.
According to preliminary reports, police set up a crime scene in the vicinity of Florence and Clinton Avenue after gunfire alerted them to the area at approximately 10 p.m.
Fast responding Irvington Township officers arrived to find a 22-year-old resident suffering a gunshot wound to the leg according to reports. Officials say the victim was transported to University Hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries.
Residents in the area told RLS Metro Breaking News that shortly before gunfire rang out, they heard several male voices engaged in 'heated' verbal confrontation.
Police say the gunman ran from the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at-large.
The incident is under investigation by the Irvington Township Police Department's detective bureau.
