The extent of injuries could not immediately be confirmed for a person found suffering a stab injury at a location in Elizabeth during the late Friday evening hours.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Broad and East Broad streets at approximately 10:50 p.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.
Elizabeth Police units arrived at the scene and found a person suffering a stab wound at that location according to reports.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where doctors provide treatment.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
