A 48-year-old Irvington man was arrested after allegedly shoplifting from a Kenilworth supermarket Monday.
According to authorities, police Monday responded to the ACME Supermarket just before 9 p.m. for a report of a shoplifter that fled the store.
Officials say while officers checked the surrounding area, Ptl. Matthew Torre located Mr. Alfred Lovett, 48, of Irvington, hiding in a nearby wooded area.
Police arrested and charged Lovett with shoplifting and found he had several outstanding criminal warrants.
Authorities issued Lovett a summons and released him with a court date to appear in the Kenilworth Municipal Court.
