Five children and three adults were taken to an area hospital after a car collided with a school bus in Newark this afternoon.
The incident happened in the South Ward neighborhood of Seymour Avenue and West Runyon Street just before 3:45 pm where emergency responders rushed to the scene and found occupants trapped inside a car and several children and the driver onboard the school bus.
Police say the car lost control and struck the car then crashed into a parked car occupied by two people.
Firefighters and EMS were first on the scene and extricated the occupants from the vehicle while others checked the children on the school bus.
There were no severe injuries reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
