Firefighters are on the scene battling a multi-alarm fire that i destroyed homes in Jersey City on Sunday morning.
According to a preliminary statement reports, heavy fire broke out in the 100 block of South Street at approximately 5 a.m. where firefighters arrived at the scene and found flames ripping through the roof of a home at that location.

Crews began an exterior attack as intense fire tore through the structure and began to extend to neighboring homes.
Fire officials activated as many as four alarms as the raged out of control and began to damaged homes surrounding it.
As os 6:30 a.m., firefighters had not declared the blaze under control.
There are no immediate reports of injuries at this time
