The cause of an early morning fire that damaged a house in Elizabeth is under investigation.
According to authorities, firefighters responded to the 100 block of Spring Street shortly before 6:30 a.m. for a report of a fire in a 2.5 story wood frame home.
Officials say crews arrived to find heavy fire in the attic that quickly spread throughout the vacant home.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
Authorities say the blaze was brought under control within an hour.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
