A 30-year-old Linden man arrived at a local hospital after he was struck by gunfire Wednesday evening.
According to a statement released by Linden authorities, officers responded to the area of Chandler and Bergen avenues sometime around 9:20 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
Officials say the victim, a 30-year-old Linden man, was located at Trinitas Regional Medical Center where he suffered a gunshot wound to the lower torso.
Police say the man was treated and has since been released from the hospital.
The incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Tim Hubert at (908) 474-8532.
