There are no serious injuries reported as firefighters are on the scene battling a stubborn two-alarm fire that tore through a house in East Orange Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports from fire officials, fire broke out in a two and a half wood framed house located in the 100 block of Rutledge Avenue just before 4 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they observed heavy smoke coming from the upper floors of the large structure.
Crews were able to jump on the fire and get inside the home where about five residents managed to evacuate without injury.
The fire has not been placed under control as of 6:22 a.m.
The cause remains under investigation.
