A Code Blue has been called by the Union County Department of Human Services/Division of Individual and Family Support Services, due to predicted weather conditions starting this evening and into Monday night.
Emergency shelters are expected to extend capacity to highest possible levels tonight, utilizing the additional cots.
Individuals/families seeking shelter during a Code Blue must be screened and referred by the UC Division of Social Services. Anyone in need of shelter after 3:30 p.m. or when county offices are closed, should be directed to the Union County Hotline at (908) 249-4815.
Additionally, walk-ins will be accepted at the Gateway Family YMCA (135 Madison Avenue) and The Salvation Army (1018 E. Grand Street).
