Police are investigating a report of a possible luring incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Berkeley Heights.
According to authorities, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a 15-year old female Governor Livingston student was approached by two males in a vehicle near the intersection of Mercer Road and Watchung Boulevard a Governor Livingston High School entrance.
Officials say a large, white delivery box-truck type vehicle occupied by two males pulled up alongside the student. The driver allegedly rolled down the window, winked at her, and said “come in.”
Police say the student did not reply, ran away from the vehicle, and entered her friend’s vehicle, which was parked Mercer Road.
According to authorities, the suspect truck then drove away, made a K-turn at the top of Mercer Road near the high school, and operated by the student and her friend in the parked vehicle again with no further interaction.
Police say the suspect is described as a white male in his 20s with dark medium-length hair and dark eyebrows. The truck is described as all-white on the box portion with possible dark writing or logo on the cab doors.
