Police in Newark are on the search for several suspects who are wanted for a carjacking that occurred on Sunday evening in the city's West Ward.
Newark Police officials placed the entire city on a robbery alert after they said, armed men -who operated a carjacked vehicle- began to rob several people in Newark and other Essex County municipalities.
Preliminary reports said the suspects reportedly began their reign of terror in the 200 block of South 20th Street where police say they stalked out the driver of a blue 2007 Chevy Impala with reported Connecticut license plate numbers "224M379" then pointed a weapon and demanded the vehicle just before 9:50 p.m.
Police say the suspects are two black males who wore dark clothing and are considered armed and dangerous according to a be on the lookout alert. The suspects are accompanied by another suspect who are possibly being used to box victims in while they rob and carjack them according to reports.
According to officials, at approximately 6:40 a.m., officers are looking for at least two additional vehicles that are occupied by suspects who are driving around robbing people.
The first vehicle is a grey BMW 5 Series with a reported license plate number "C72-KRZ" and a 2018 White Dodge Durango that stolen out of Clifton with a license plate number "E50-JVA.
There were no juries reported.
