Police in Hawthorne are investgiating a stabbing incident that left one person injured at a location in the city on Sunday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Diamond Bridge and Layfayettes avenues after they received reports of an injured person.
Officers arrived at the scene found the unidentified person suffering a stab injury to the back just before 9 p.m.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital where doctors treated severe injuries according to reports.
The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
