Authorities say, at approximately 6:36 pm on February 8, 2019, Nakira M. Griner, 24 of Bridgeton, reported to Bridgeton City Police Department that her child, Daniel Griner Jr., 23 months, was abducted.
A search was initiated by the Child Abduction Response Team and assisted by investigators of the Bridgeton Police Department, Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Park Police bloodhounds.
Officials say at approximately 3 am on February 9, child remains were located in the yard of 21 Woodland Drive, Bridgeton, the home of Nakira Griner. Based on the investigation, Nakira Griner has been charged with First Degree Murder, Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Second Degree Desecration of Human Remains, and Fourth Degree Tampering with Evidence. Griner has been lodged in the Cumberland County Jail pending a detention hearing.
No further information will be released at this time as the case remains under investigation.
No additional arrests are expected at this time.
