Authorities in Jersey City are on the search for a suspect who fired shots at the owner of a vehicle during a carjacking.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Bergen Avenue and Reed Street to investigate reports of shots fired that rang out at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene found a female victim who reported that while in the area of Kensington and Bergen avenues, a male brandished a gun and announced a carjacking according to reports.
The victim said that the suspect fired at last one round from a gun that broke her car window before he fled the scene.
There were no physical injuries reported.
