A raging three-alarm fire that destroyed a house in Wayne left one person resident was unaccounted for and feared dead according to fire officials.
According to preliminary reports, heavy fire broke out at 965 Ratzer Road sending firefighters to the scene at approximately 7:30 p.m.
After beating down much of the flames that engulfed the house, firefighters were still unable to do a complete search of the one and a half story home due to heavy smoke and fire that existed.
Fire officials said extreme cold temperatures made firefighting difficult with water from hoses freezing almost immediately.
It took about one hour to control the fire with the cause under investigation.
