United States Postal Police and Irvington Township authorities are looking into a confirmed theft of a mail truck by armed men in the Township on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a statement released by authorities, the incident happened before 4 p.m. in the vicinity of Madison and Stuyvesant avenues where a mail delivery technician was making rounds when two armed suspects approached and stole the vehicle.
The suspects drove the mail truck a short distance before they stole several pieces of mail from inside then sprinted away from the scene.
Irvington Township Police officers canvassing the area found the vehicle a short distance from where the incident occurred according to authorities.
There were no physical injuries reported. The suspects remain at-large.
