Newark Police are investigating a reported carjacking that occurred in a South Ward community on Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 300 block of Wainwright Avenue after receiving reports of a carjacking in progress before 10:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, they began a search for a gray Toyota Camry with reported PA license plate number "KKN-4666".
A black male who wore a blue jacket reportedly took the vehicle from the driver at gunpoint.
There were no physical injuries reported.
