One person suffered fatal injuries after a shots fired incident had bullets connect on one person on a street in Union City during the overnight hours.
The incident happened just after midnight in the 400 block of 20th Street where reports of shots fired sent police to the area to investigate.
Officers that arrived at the scene found the unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive victim suffering gunshot wounds Police say medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene a short time later.
The investigation into the motive for the shooting is in its early stages and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office will handle the investigation.
Authorities say the suspect remains at-large.
